Cadillac has revealed the drivers who will race in its inaugural Formula 1 season in 2026. The team has opted for two familiar faces: Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez.
Together, Bottas and Pérez bring more than 500 Grand Prix starts of experience to the newcomer. Pérez explained on a podcast that this was precisely why he is returning to the sport, a decision he discussed on his first working day at Cadillac's facility in Silverstone.
Meanwhile, a very different story is unfolding in the life of Haas talent Ollie Bearman. His family has made the move to relocate with him to Monaco, purely to support his Formula 1 career as best as possible. However, this family move has sparked a mild sibling rivalry over who gets to use the driver simulator at home.
Valtteri Bottas is also already playing a role that extends beyond his own racing plans. The Finn, who is serving as a reserve driver for Mercedes in 2025, is mentoring Kimi Antonelli during his learning phase in Formula 1.
That mentoring role will take on a special dynamic in 2026, when the Finnish 'master' goes head-to-head on track against his former 'apprentice' Antonelli.
