The world of Formula 1 and the magical allure of Disney come together in spectacular fashion for a heartwarming initiative. A unique, custom-made F1 helmet featuring a vibrant Disney theme and signed by most F1 drivers is being auctioned to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish foundation. This project represents a wonderful fusion of sport and charity, with proceeds fulfilling the wishes of critically ill children outside the United States.
This one-of-a-kind helmet stands as the centerpiece of a brand-new partnership among Disney, Formula 1, and Make-A-Wish. Crafted by Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse, alongside Disney's global creative director Bobby Kim, the design blends iconic Mickey Mouse artwork with dynamic F1 design elements. Produced in collaboration with Bell Racing, the helmet features a matte black finish accented by vivid red and yellow touches, complete with F1 branding and a subtly integrated Make-A-Wish star.
During the recent Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone, Formula 1 drivers showed their support by signing the helmet. With the exception of Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Pérez, every current driver has added their signature to this exceptional collector's item, enhancing both its value for collectors and its impact for charity.
Interested buyers will have the opportunity to place bids via F1 Authentics. Registration opens on July 7, 2026, with the bidding period running from July 11 through July 18. All net proceeds from this auction will directly benefit Make-A-Wish International, helping make dreams come true for countless children.
The bond between Disney and Make-A-Wish runs deep, spanning more than four decades. The very first official Make-A-Wish experience at Disneyland took place over 45 years ago, and Disney has since helped fulfill more than 175,000 wishes worldwide. Over the Silverstone weekend, several Make-A-Wish children and their families attended, admiring the helmet up close and meeting ambassador Pierre Gasly for an unforgettable experience.
For fans who missed seeing this unique creation in person, a second instance of the helmet will be displayed from August 14 to 16 at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California. This will give even more enthusiasts the opportunity to appreciate this remarkable piece of design and charity.
