Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin has found a new way to offer Formula 1 fans a more extensive experience. Debutting this year is "Grand PrixView Thursday," a special Thursday access option that effectively extends the United States Grand Prix weekend by a day. The initiative marks another step in the sport's growing popularity across the United States.

Starting October 22, interested fans will have the chance to visit the circuit before official track action gets underway. This Thursday admission is available as a standalone ticket starting at twenty dollars—an attractive option for those looking to bypass the main event crowds or sample the experience at an affordable price.

Visitors can look forward to a range of activities during the special day. Highlights include the opportunity to take part in a Formula 1 pitlane walk, giving fans an up-close look at the teams and cars. Activities for the F1 Academy will also be underway on track, complete with access to their paddock.

Alongside the on-track action, popular fan zones and merchandise stalls will be open. F1 enthusiasts can soak up the atmosphere in the fan villages and the Formula 1 Fan Zone while picking up souvenirs early. COTA's amusement park will likewise open on Thursday, though separate admission is required.

Bobby Epstein, Chairman and Founder of COTA, emphasized that accessibility is at the core of the new offering. He described "Grand PrixView Thursday" as a open house of sorts for the local Central Texas community. The goal is to allow more people to experience what Formula 1 is all about without having to commit to the full cost of a race weekend.

For holders of standard three-day passes—whether grandstand, general admission, or hospitality tickets—Thursday entry is included free of charge. This demonstrates that COTA is not only aiming to attract new fans, but also seeking to enrich the experience for returning spectators.

Since joining the Formula 1 calendar in 2012, the Austin race has grown into one of the sport's best-attended events. COTA has spent years investing heavily in broadening the race weekend offering, prioritizing expansive entertainment and fan experiences alongside core motorsport action. This latest expansion fits seamlessly into that strategy.
