Drivers to Board Lego Cars for Silverstone Parade
For the traditional drivers' parade at Silverstone, all Formula 1 drivers will step into specially designed, drivable mini-cars built from 28,000 Lego bricks, a concept that previously proved successful in Miami.

The traditional drivers' parade ahead of the British Grand Prix receives a colorful and eye-catching twist this weekend. All Formula 1 drivers at Silverstone will step into custom-made Lego cars, repeating the successful concept introduced in Miami last year.
For this edition, 22 unique mini-cars have been constructed, one for every driver on the grid. Each vehicle is a feat of construction toy art, assembled from no fewer than 28,000 Lego bricks, complemented by other components to make them fully steerable.
These remarkable machines are not only visually impressive, but functional as well. The go-karts can reach speeds of up to 25 kilometers per hour. Twenty designers worked on the creation, with input provided by all eleven Formula 1 teams.
Just before the lights turn green for the race, drivers will greet fans around the circuit in this playful fashion. It promises to deliver another unique spectacle during Sunday's formation lap festivities.
