However, when asked about his current contract status, Lawson admitted he has not yet been brought into internal management discussions.
Lawson has built a strong case for retention after accumulating 43 points across the opening 11 rounds of the season. The primary plan within the Milton Keynes-Faenza setup points toward maintaining continuity alongside Arvid Lindblad for 2027. Despite that intent, Red Bull faces an increasingly crowded driver pipeline that complicates straightforward renewals.
The source of that pressure is Nikola Tsolov, whose impressive performance in Formula 2 has put him directly into contention. The Bulgarian driver currently leads the F2 championship, forcing Red Bull executives to consider how to integrate their latest prospect. Racing Bulls boss Alan Permane confirmed that Tsolov is next in line for a seat and remains prominent on the team's radar.
Permane indicated that a final evaluation regarding Tsolov will take place later in the campaign, a timeline that aligns with Lawson's expectations of summer shutdown talks.
