Max Verstappen's dominant performances have propelled Red Bull Racing to unprecedented heights in recent years. However, this streak of success has also revealed a flip side within the factory walls.
The bar was constantly set sky-high, largely due to the standards established on track by the Dutch driver himself. This ongoing pressure to repeatedly match those exceptional performances proved internally demanding and grueling.
The paradoxical outcome was that these immense expectations actually undermined confidence within the team. With the bar set so high by Verstappen, any result deviating even slightly from absolute perfection could feel like a failure, even if objectively it remained a top result.
Thus, it emerged that even for a team dominating Formula 1, the mental toll of maintaining such a level presents a considerable challenge.
