Verstappen Dismisses Red Bull Revival Hopes at Silverstone

Bare a week after a promising second place in Austria, where victory even seemed within reach, the mood at Red Bull Racing has cooled significantly at Silverstone. The team is struggling for performance this weekend, which translated directly into qualifying.
Max Verstappen was hampered by power unit trouble during the qualifying session. This technical setback undeniably contributed to the disappointing display on the British circuit, where the RB22 could manage no better than a disappointing position.
Yet the Dutchman insists that even without the engine issue, the car's pure pace is simply insufficient to fight at the front. According to him, the RB22 lacks the fundamental speed to match the competition.
Consequently, he appears to have abandoned all hope of a miraculous recovery in competitiveness. "They don't need to ask me that anymore," a clearly frustrated Verstappen noted, addressing expectations of a turnaround following a disappointing session.
